The SVB Branded Rush on eBay Is Going Even Stronger Now

The gold rush for Silicon Valley Bank merchandise is going even stronger than it was earlier this week.

We first reported that products like cardboard boxes meant to be onboarding kits were selling as high as $200. There were hats and wine tumblers, too. There were also a few T-shirts that were obviously designed for this very occasion to be printed as novelty T-shirts, playing off of themes like “Bank Run” with imprints made to look like a charity run T-shirt.

Since Monday, there are even more products printed as jokes, like those supposedly coming from the company’s Risk Management division, including one with a little needle deep into the red zone of the risk chart.

But there are also a few more legitimate products popping up, many selling for a good chunk of change.

One seller has a Patagonia vest with the SVB logo on it, making it a double novelty, given Patagonia’s decision to shift away from the branded merchandise sector. The seller is starting bidding at $500, with a buy-it-now option of $1,000.

There are also new promotional items like a tote bag cooler, currently priced at $45.45 after eight bids and two days remaining; a YETI 20 oz. Tumbler listed at $152.50 with 21 bids and only a few hours remaining at time of writing this; a brand notebook listed for $25 with one bid; a pair of socks with a $15 starting bid or $50 buy-it-now price; an insulated mug at $122.50 after 18 bids; a waterproof backpack for $150; there’s a purse hook for $23.50 after 22 bids; and a branded cycling jersey currently at $32 after two bids.

There’s more where that came from, and there will no doubt be even more soon. Pretty much anyone who has an SVB-branded product will be able to cash in quickly on the hype. It won’t last forever, as these collectors will move onto the next meme. But, if they felt inclined, they could quickly dispose of the products that they might not want to hold onto anymore if they don’t have that same penchant for the ironic.

Right now, though, it’s a bank run on its own for people cashing in on SVB-branded everything.

Oh, one more thing. There is, in fact, an SVB-branded Ugly Sweater.
